Creativity & Genre

The importance of having a creative process is that everything is unique. Usually there might be something that you thought about  that no one else has tried yet. Using your creative mind will benefit your work so much,  therefore  every time I have an  idea;  I always write it down so that I don’t for get it.  I have so many thoughts throughout the day, such as good present ideas for when its Christmas or someone's birthday,  or something I need to stop and buy because it's important. But especially now, having this class and thinking about movies and magazines in detail  and now having to think about how I'm going to create a movie just as good as all the others.  My mind is always thinking about the camera angles I'm going to use, the setting, and genre of my movie. I’ve decided to research a little bit on adven turous movies, as if was fantasy or horror, I wouldn’t ha...

To Team or Not to Team

Teams or no teams? There are positives and negatives about working in teams. Some people in the group prefer to not do anything and have the other team members do the heavy lifting. Working in teams also needs a lot of responsibility, such as to rely on your peers to do their  work and   to  show up on time.  During class we worked on an activity,  Social Media Peer Account,  which helped our class to get understanding of one out side  of school. The activity consisted of going on  someone's  social media account and have an understand ing  from what the images or videos posted expressed about the person. I did this activity on Kyla, and I got a good understanding about how she is out of school. She posts a lot of videos of the places that she's been to, and lots of pictures with her friends. I learned a lot about Kyla just by looking through her social media accounts.  Compared to my social media accounts, I would say that we have ...

Decision Day

Decision day, throughout the week I have learned many things. Started out with gathering pictures and a two-minute video, which later we would learn how to either make a movie or make a magazine. We downloaded Premiere pro and InDesign and we started out with watching a YouTube video on how to use these apps. In middle school I used Premiere Pro, so I knew what I  was doing and  I  was excited to be able to work with it again. I remember all the tools such as how to add music, voice over, cut pieces of the clip and make it all flow together.  When we got to practice on  InDesign,   I  thought that the tools would be the same as Premiere Pro, but they are completely different which made it harder for me to understand.  The difference between doing a magazine and a movie is that with a movie you can have many options on the different camera angles, lighting, the setting, the music and many other factors that are appropriate to cr...

Magazine Cover Review

I personally don't read magazines, but they have very capturing cover pages at the store that makes me want to buy them. Nowadays most magazines have changed their style to capture modern readers that are used to get their information off the internet or on their phones. According to the article "Most magazines now resemble movie posters more closely than they do the dry pages of a book. They are filled with color, over sized headlines, graphics, photos, and pull quotes." This quote compares to another part from the article which talks about how this generation which has a short attention span which has influenced magazines to shorten their article. Many magazines did not change; an example is the "Oprah Magazine". Many people know Oprah from her show and many people follow her work and her magazine network. She has been on the cover of every single magazine and matched her picture with the theme of the month or of an issue. Most of her audience is middle ...
